Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gawain Orucai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orucai has chosen When Worlds Collide as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anderson Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gawain Orucai! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orucai ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet. Orucai with a poor takedown and Silva counters with a series of strikes. Orucai will be more careful next time no doubt. Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Orucai on his heels. He'll look to pass Orucai's guard now, I'm sure. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Orucai can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Anderson Silva wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Orucai gets a clinch. Orucai struggles to land a body shot inside as Silva controls his hands.
Silva creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Orucai's defenses. Silva has Orucai pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Orucai tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Orucai's guard. Silva sitting in guard here, content to control. Silva with a nice head shot there. Silva working some strikes from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orucai has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle. Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Silva lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Orucai looks winded! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Orucai can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace. Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Orucai is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Gawain Orucai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Orucai on the ground. Silva working Orucai over with strikes. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Silva lands a nice short elbow. Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Silva trying to control the pace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Orucai pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silva dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Orucai to the ground. Silva is now in Orucai's guard. Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Orucai looking for a sweep. Not yet Orucai, not yet. Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Anderson Silva. Orucai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away. Orucai is breathing heavily. Silva tests Orucai's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Silva breaks from the clinch.
Orucai wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Anderson Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva dives in and scores a takedown into Orucai's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Orucai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Silva looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva with a nice head shot there. Silva sitting in guard here, content to control. Silva landing with the ground and pound. Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Anderson Silva just wasn't active enough. Orucai gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Silva connects with a couple of short punches. Silva gets to his feet. Orucai looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Silva looking to score a takedown here. Orucai is defending well but Silva drives through and ends up in Orucai's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Orucai, up you get! Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Orucai is trying to control but can't.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Orucai looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Orucai stops Silva from passing to mount. Silva taking a breather here. Orucai wants to get back to his feet but Silva drags him back down. Orucai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva lands a decent elbow from side control. Silva scoring with punches from side control. Silva in side control, just content to control the action for now. Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Silva has knee on belly momentarily but Orucai bucks him off and regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Orucai tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Well, if Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orucai swivels though and keeps the full guard. Silva stays in close to Orucai's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Anderson Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. The fight moves into the clinch position. Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Orucai uses from the top position. Orucai tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Anderson Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Anderson Silva! A very excited looking Anderson Silva rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
