Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiruku Matah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorpe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Limelight by Rush. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hiruku Matah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Thorpe! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Thorpe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thorpe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Matah. Matah thumps Thorpe with a low kick. Matah misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Thorpe looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Matah looking for a guillotine here but Thorpe defends easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matah is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matah loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Thorpe wants to stand but Matah is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Matah trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Matah might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Thorpe wants to stand and escape but Matah is having none of it. Matah wants to pass the guard but Thorpe is keeping the position. Matah is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorpe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Matah is controlling him. Thorpe can't keep his opponent in guard - Matah advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Thorpe pushes Matah off looking to stand but Matah dives back in and keeps control.
Matah wants to free his trapped foot but Thorpe is holding on for dear life with his legs. Thorpe is not content to let Matah control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matah is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Matah is working for a submission of some sort.
Thorpe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matah wants to pass the guard but Thorpe is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thorpe makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiruku Matah dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Thorpe leaves Matah with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Matah here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Thorpe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matah manages to avoid it. Thorpe misses with a series of wild punches.
No luck for Matah with that takedown attempt. Matah closes the distance and clinches up with Thorpe, looking for a takedown. Matah pushes Thorpe against the cage but Thorpe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiruku Matah. That's going to take a lot out of him. Matah changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thorpe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Thorpe is trying to get back to his feet. Thorpe stops Matah from passing to mount. Thorpe is trying to buck Matah off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorpe is not content to let Matah control the position. Matah lands a nice forearm strike.
It looks like Scott Thorpe has been cut. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thorpe can do anything to dispel that myth. Matah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Matah tries to move to mount but Thorpe blocks the move with his legs. Matah is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thorpe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorpe is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Matah trying to control the action but Thorpe is working from the bottom. Matah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Matah goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Thorpe has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Matah but great work by Thorpe.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorpe scores with a couple of short elbows. Matah tries to buck Thorpe off but Thorpe is having none of it. Thorpe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Matah tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thorpe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Matah looking for a sweep but Thorpe has passed into full mount! Oh no! Thorpe pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thorpe lands with some strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thorpe cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Thorpe cracks Matah with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Thorpe raining down hammerfists from mount. Matah is looking to improve his position but Thorpe isn't that keen on the idea. Thorpe landing punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorpe unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Matah wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Thorpe celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
