4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Brazil! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brazil tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Brazil gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Brazil looking for a sweep. Not yet Brazil, not yet. Alonso throws a big elbow that misses. Alonso advances position into side control! Alonso working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Alonso advances to mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alonso postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Brazil looks a forlorn figure.

That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Alonso. Brazil wants to hold on but Alonso pushes him away. Alonso controlling his opponent. Brazil taking shots to the head.
Brazil is rocked! Alonso breaks from Brazil's wrist control and lands an elbow. Brazil is still in real trouble! Can Alonso finish him? Alonso landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alonso is landing with some decent strikes but Brazil is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Alonso drops a big elbow. That's hurt Brazil! More shots from Alonso and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Alonso! Jose Alonso retains his light heavyweight title! After the fight, Jose Alonso was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
