Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Llorente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Riordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Riordan struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riordan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Llorente counters with an inside leg kick.
Llorente misses with a takedown attempt
and Riordan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Riordan scores with a takedown into Llorente's guard.
Riordan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Llorente looking for a sweep. Not yet Llorente, not yet.
Riordan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Llorente. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Llorente is looking to cinch up a triangle. Riordan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Llorente's body to avoid the submission. Llorente has instead reached around Riordan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Llorente arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
