The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fish closes the distance and pushes Gruber back into the cage.

Gruber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hans Gruber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fish fails with a takedown attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Gruber.

It looks like Jon Paul Fish has been cut.
Fish will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gruber takes the fight into the clinch.
Fish pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Fish misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gruber prevents Fish from breaking the clinch.

Gruber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gruber thows a leg kick but Fish checks it
and Fish counters with a leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fish takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A jab-cross combination lands for Gruber and sends Fish crashing to the mat! Gruber follows him down to the mat - Fish regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Fish is rocked!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gruber connects with a nice short shot to Fish's temple.
Oh Fish is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gruber lands a big elbow - Fish is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Gruber!
