Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maikon Kelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choel Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Choel Six has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maikon Kelvin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maikon Kelvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Choel Six!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kelvin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Six manages to get back to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kelvin in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelvin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Six wants to control but Kelvin passes into side.
Kelvin lands an elbow.
Kelvin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kelvin has control of an arm but Six manages to advance to Kelvin's back!

Six is persistently looking for the submission but Kelvin is defending it well.

Kelvin manages to reverse the position and now he's in Six's guard. Nice work there by Kelvin.

Kelvin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kelvin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Crunch! Six slams his shin into Kelvin's torso.

Kelvin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Six sprawls well initially but Kelvin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kelvin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kelvin in particular looking to stall.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kelvin connects with a nice short shot to Six's temple.
Kelvin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Six reverses the position - he's now on top in Kelvin's guard.

Kelvin is pulling down on Six's head to control his posture.
Kelvin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kelvin is taking a breather. Six says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Six is trying to maintain a safe position but Kelvin gets an underhook and turns Six into the cage.

Six tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelvin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kelvin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kelvin wants it to stay on the feet.
Maikon Kelvin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Choel Six.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Six wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelvin is pulling down on Six's head. It's preventing any offense from Six, at least for the moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kelvin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Six is desperately trying to improve his position but Kelvin has a good base and remains in mount.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Six tries to close the distance and clinch but Kelvin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kelvin thows a body kick. Six tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kelvin. Six does a little dance to reset his feet.
Six is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kelvin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kelvin lands in his opponent's guard.

Six escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kelvin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kelvin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kelvin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

and Kelvin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kelvin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kelvin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Six should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kelvin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
