Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Stenner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stenner kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Volbeat - Mary Ann's Place. Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 3s and 7s kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Stenner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenner tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Stenner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
It looks like Jones might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jones is looking to advance position but Stenner won't allow it.
Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Stenner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
Jones passes to side control.
Stenner dodges the ground and pound from Jones.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stenner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jones landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stenner keeps working.
Stenner parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stenner to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stenner seems a little lost for a moment, as Jones dominates the positioning.

Jones throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Jones lands a few punches from side control.
Jones working the head and body with strikes.

Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Stenner is trying to escape the position but Jones is controlling the position.

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stenner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stenner is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Jones dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Stenner moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stenner is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Stenner circles away and we're back to standing.
A punch combination from Jones misses.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stenner!
Stenner wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stenner has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jones passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Stenner!

Stenner wants to try and get back to his feet.
The referee warns Stenner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Stenner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Stenner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stenner shrugs it off.
Jones lands a heavy elbow.

Jones has hold of Stenner's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Stenner manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Stenner is having none of it.

Jones is in the full mount, landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones controlling the pace for now.

Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stenner is rocked!
Jones drops a big elbow. That's hurt Stenner! More shots from Jones and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy Jones!
Randy Jones decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
