Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spark Boro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Alard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Alard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Spark Boro!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boro was well out of range. Poor timing from Alard.
Alard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alard misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alard tries to clinch but Boro is having none of it.
Alard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alard misses with a double jab.
Alard takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Aaron Alard has been cut.
Boro misses with an uppercut.

A punch combination from Boro misses.
Alard uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boro.
Alard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Boro swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Alard shoots in looking for a takedown. Boro tries to sprawl out of it but Alard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alard scores with a hook to the body. Boro takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Alard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Alard controls the pace.
Boro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alard is controlling him.
Alard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Alard wants to control from the top but Boro keeps moving.

Aaron Alard has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Alard takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Alard closes the distance and clinches up with Boro, looking for a takedown. Alard pushes Boro against the cage but Boro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Boro counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Alard misses with a looping left.
Boro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Alard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Boro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boro is looking for a sweep.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Boro for as long as he can get away with.

Alard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boro takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Alard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Boro sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Boro wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Alard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boro, who protects the arm well.

Boro is not content to let Alard control the position.

Alard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boro avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Alard.

Aaron Alard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Alard lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alard's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Boro connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Alard scrambles back to his feet.

Alard shoots in looking for a takedown but Boro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Boro looks to throw the jab but Alard is out of range.
Boro throws a series of strikes that have Alard backpedaling.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I think Boro has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
