Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ima Punchon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lew Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Broke for Free - Calm the F#@$ Down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ima Punchon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lew Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Punchon to counter with a crisp jab.
Jenkins dodges the punch combination from Punchon.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jenkins. Punchon does a little dance to reset his feet.
Punchon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jenkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lew Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jenkins fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Punchon moves forwards but Jenkins connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Punchon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Punchon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jenkins uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jenkins just misses with a punch to the body.
Jenkins misses with a combination
and Punchon counters with a nice leg kick.
Jenkins dips to his left and cracks Punchon with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Punchon with a nice cross.

Punchon clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punchon is trying to pull guard but Jenkins has him pressed against the cage.
Jenkins presses Punchon against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Punchon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Punchon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jenkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Punchon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jenkins just misses with a punch to the body.

Jenkins tries to keep at a distance but Punchon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jenkins tries to work over Punchon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jenkins can't find room to land a body shot as Punchon controls the action.
Jenkins gets underhooks to prevent Punchon's takedown attempt.
Jenkins goes for a takedown in the clinch but Punchon prevents it.

Jenkins is fighting off a takedown attempt but Punchon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jenkins to the mat. Jenkins regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Punchon wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.
Punchon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jenkins on the ground.
Punchon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Punchon is trying desperately to improve position.
Punchon wants to get back to his feet.
Jenkins breaks from Punchon's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Punchon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Punchon tries to get out of the position.
Jenkins looking to finish Punchon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Punchon!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jenkins lands with some strikes.
Punchon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jenkins lands a nice shot to the head.
A nice elbow there by Jenkins.
Punchon is bucking up trying to escape but Jenkins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins landing shots from mount.

Jenkins working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Punchon looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Jenkins! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Lew Jenkins!
An out of breath Lew Jenkins thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
