Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antonio Velazquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia throws a wild body kick that Velazquez sees coming a mile off.
Garcia lunges at Velazquez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Velazquez's hand.

Velazquez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Garcia's guard.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Garcia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Velazquez wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position.
Garcia looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Garcia looking to control.
Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Velazquez manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Garcia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Velazquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Velazquez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Velazquez tries to get out of the position.

Garcia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Garcia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Garcia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Garcia trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Garcia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Velazquez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Velazquez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Velazquez!

Garcia is trying to control Velazquez's posture but Velazquez avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garcia is looking for a sweep.
Garcia keeps trying to improve his position.
Velazquez is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Garcia gets back to half guard.
Garcia makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Garcia.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Velazquez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Velazquez has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Velazquez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Garcia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velazquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velazquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Velazquez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Garcia had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Velazquez defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Velazquez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garcia to the mat! Garcia manages to get full guard.

Garcia working for a triangle but Velazquez defends it easily.

Garcia is looking to cinch up a triangle. Velazquez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Garcia's body to avoid the submission. Garcia has instead reached around Velazquez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Garcia arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Marcelo Garcia!
