Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cory Lynch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Du Arschloch ! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arschloch fails with the takedown and Lynch counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Arschloch shoots in and drives through. Lynch sprawls well. Arschloch shoots in but no luck this time. Cory Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Du Arschloch . A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Arschloch . Nice shot by Lynch. Arschloch doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lynch counters with a stiff right hand. No luck with that takedown attempt from Arschloch . Arschloch has his takedown stuffed and Lynch counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Du Arschloch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arschloch looks winded! Lynch moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Lynch connects with an inside leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Lynch. That's going to slow Arschloch down. Lynch dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lynch throws a head kick that misses. Lynch lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lynch scores with a spinning back kick! Lynch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Arschloch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Arschloch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lynch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lynch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lynch is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Arschloch working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lynch. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lynch trying to control but Arschloch is working from the bottom. Lynch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Arschloch is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Lynch frees his head nicely. Oh but Arschloch has switched to an armbar! Lynch is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
