The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The One looks for a takedown but Steveson sprawls well.
The One tries for a takedown but Steveson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Steveson closes the distance and clinches.

The One breaks from the clinch.
Steveson stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bart The One. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The One wants to clinch but Steveson slips to the side

and Steveson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for The One!
The One in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Steveson controlling the position easily from mount.
Steveson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
I looks like Steveson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The One is working to get back to half guard.
Steveson avoids the attempt from The One to control.
The One is trying desperately to improve position.
Steveson controlling his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The One wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Steveson is landing with strikes from the back.
The One is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Let's hope that Steveson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Joe Steveson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The One tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Steveson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steveson.
The One is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The One is breathing heavily.
Steveson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The One tries to keep at a distance but Steveson has taken the fight into the clinch.

The One drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Steveson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steveson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! The One's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


The One lands a front kick.
Steveson closes the distance and clinches up with The One, looking for a takedown. Steveson pushes The One against the cage but The One circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Steveson connects with a solid leg kick.
Steveson throws a series of punches but The One avoids them all with ease.

Steveson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The One, pushing him back against the cage.
Steveson crunches a lovely knee into The One's ribcage.
Steveson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Bart The One has been cut.

Steveson breaks the clinch.
Steveson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The One tries for a takedown but Steveson circles away easily

and Steveson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Joe Steveson has got the better of the ground game so far.

The One being controlled here, momentarily.
The One is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The One can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steveson controls the pace.
The One wants to control but Steveson passes easily into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The One trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Steveson manages to pass to mount!

Steveson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, The One has worked his arm free - good work by The One!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steveson is breathing heavily.
A lull in the action here as Steveson stalls from top position.
Steveson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on The One's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Steveson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The One knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Steveson blocks the strikes from The One.
The One gets back to half guard.
Steveson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The One trying to hold on to Steveson's head to control him but Steveson postures up.
Steveson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The One wants to control but Steveson is keeping busy.
The One punching from the bottom.

Steveson decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Steveson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Bart The One's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


The One wants to clinch but Steveson slips to the side

and Steveson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The One's guard now.

Steveson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Steveson gets a takedown into half guard.
Steveson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Steveson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for The One!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Steveson raining down shots from the mount!
Steveson breaks from The One's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Steveson works his way to his opponent's back.

Steveson has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. The One is defending well but eventually Steveson manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! The One has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Joe Steveson!
