The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelvin misses with a takedown
and Johnson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kelvin!
Kelvin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kelvin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kelvin keeps working.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kelvin on the ground.

Johnson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Kelvin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Johnson is trying to ground and pound but Kelvin uses the momentary lack of control by Johnson to regain half guard.
Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kelvin pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.
Johnson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson stops Kelvin from getting back to his feet.
Johnson winds up and cracks Kelvin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Demetrious Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kelvin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kelvin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!
Kelvin doesn't have the hooks in and Johnson manages to turn into his guard.
