Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cote has chosen Slaughterhouse-The One as his entrance music. Frank Cote will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, King Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Cote! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Johnson throws a series of punches but Cote avoids them all with ease. Cote tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. Cote stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken. Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Cote on that attempt. Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cote throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely. A jab from Cote does it's job there. Cote misses with a few strikes there.
Cote gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson is working hard here to advance position. Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work. Cote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Johnson is looking for a triangle but Cote pushes his legs off easily.

Cote gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Johnson is breathing heavily. Cote passes Johnson's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cote prevents Johnson from improving his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cote connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple. Cote is pressing down on Johnson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Johnson is holding on for now. Cote is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Cote is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Johnson won't allow Cote to pass to mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cote misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cote shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cote was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! A nice elbow there by Cote. Cote jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Johnson manages to avoid the submission attempt. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote in side control lands a decent elbow. Cote cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Johnson is bucking up trying to escape but Cote cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Cote working for a submission but Johnson is keeping him at bay. Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but Cote has a good base and remains in mount. Cote landing strikes, looking to finish! Cote is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cote is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johnson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cote avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Frank Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cote gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johnson is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cote drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cote jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Cote frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! Cote is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
