The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geist throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kolpakov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Geist misses with a head kick.
Geist bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Geist throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Nikolai Kolpakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kolpakov is looking to land body kicks.
Geist delivers a nice body kick.
Geist misses with a kick to the body.
Geist slips a jab from Kolpakov.
Kolpakov misses with a looping left.
Kolpakov misses with a hook.
Geist displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kolpakov throws out the jab.
Kolpakov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kolpakov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Geist manages to avoid it.
Geist throws a front kick that sends Kolpakov stumbling back into the cage.
Geist looks to land a body kick but Kolpakov moved away.
Geist misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kolpakov tries to score with a low kick but Geist moves his leg out of the way.
Kolpakov cracks a nice hook into Geist's ribs.

Kolpakov throws a head kick but Geist moves out of range.

and Geist cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Geist looks to throw the jab but Kolpakov is out of range.
Geist misses with a body kick.
Geist pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Geist misses with a kick to the body.
Geist slips under a jab from Kolpakov.
Kolpakov throws the left hand but Geist avoids the punch easily.
Kolpakov scores with a body shot.
Geist goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kolpakov swings widly with a right hand
and Geist counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kolpakov throws a series of strikes that have Geist backpedaling.

It looks like Viktor Geist has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kolpakov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kolpakov misses the shot to the body.
Geist uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kolpakov.

Geist gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Geist is rocked!
Kolpakov throws a jab when Geist was well out of range.
Geist is still on wobbly legs! Can Kolpakov finish him?
Geist is looking to land body kicks.
Geist drops his hands momentarily. Kolpakov doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Geist staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Geist doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
