Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dj Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beniamino Comando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dj Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Beniamino Comando! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Comando gets a clinch. Acevedo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Comando gets a trip takedown into half guard. Comando is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Acevedo sees it coming and defends easily. Acevedo is trying to get back to full guard. Comando thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Acevedo's head. Comando stands up out of the half guard. Acevedo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Comando counters by moving into the clinch. Comando takes a knee to the side of the body. Comando has Acevedo pressed against the cage, preventing Acevedo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Acevedo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Comando successfully pulls guard.
Acevedo wants to stand but Comando has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Acevedo stops Comando from standing up. Acevedo throwing strikes from guard but Comando blocks nicely. Acevedo trying to control but Comando is working from the bottom. Comando is pulling down on Acevedo's head to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Beniamino Comando was stalling too much, according to the referee. Comando gets a clinch. Comando is defending well against a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dj Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Comando manages to break the clinch.
Acevedo looks for a takedown but Comando sprawls well. Comando rushes Acevedo and presses him up against the cage. Acevedo takes an elbow to the temple. Comando has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Acevedo is trying to keep an underhook but Comando manages to get the takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Comando has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Acevedo is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Comando with good strikes from the mount here! Comando is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Acevedo has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Comando tries to control but Acevedo wriggling away. Comando controlling from mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Comando fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beniamino Comando dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Acevedo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Acevedo tries to sprawl but Comando drives through with a takedown into half guard. Comando takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Comando in particular looking to stall. Acevedo wants to improve his position but Comando is controlling well.
Acevedo wants to control but Comando is keeping busy and won't allow it. Beniamino Comando has got the better of the ground game so far. Comando gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Comando changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Acevedo tries to avoid it but Comando manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Acevedo to the ground. Acevedo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Acevedo shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Comando looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Acevedo! Acevedo can't do much from the bottom here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Acevedo is trying to control Comando's posture but Comando avoids it. Comando working the ground and pound from side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The referee asks Comando politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Comando prefers to stall for the moment though. Acevedo is looking for a sweep. Acevedo is letting Comando control him for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Comando in side control lands a decent elbow. Acevedo pushes Comando away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Comando gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Comando stands up and beckons Acevedo to his feet. Dj Acevedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This has been an exciting period of action! Comando gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Comando breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Acevedo shoots in for a takedown but Comando shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dj Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Comando misses with the combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Comando has picked Acevedo up - he's going for a ride! Comando dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Comando tries to pass to full mount but Acevedo defends it. Acevedo wants to control but Comando is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Comando postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Acevedo to stand up. Acevedo misses with a takedown attempt - Comando sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Comando closes the distance and pushes Acevedo back into the cage. Comando keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Acevedo's efforts to push away. Acevedo goes for a takedown attempt but Comando pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Comando fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acevedo, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beniamino Comando showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Acevedo moves in looking to clinch but Comando pushes him off. Comando shoots in and bounces Acevedo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Acevedo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Comando won't allow Acevedo to get back to his feet. Comando stays in close to Acevedo's body and controls the position. Acevedo looking to control.
Comando controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Beniamino Comando was stalling too much, according to the referee. Comando clinches up with Acevedo and pushes him back against the cage.

Acevedo is working for takedown but Comando is calmly controlling the position for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Acevedo is looking for a takedown. Acevedo swings away with a leg kick that misses. Comando gets in close and instigates a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Comando ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Comando no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Comando is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Acevedo defends well. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Comando holds on and takes a little breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Comando kicks Acevedo off and gets to his feet. Comando drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Comando stands up. Comando tries for a takedown but Acevedo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Comando misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Comando shoots in looking for a takedown but Acevedo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Comando's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Acevedo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Comando manages to avoid it. A momentary lapse in concentration from Acevedo enables Comando to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Acevedo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Acevedo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Comando is stalling in the full guard. Acevedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Comando makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Acevedo trying to keep a closed guard but Comando is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Comando engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Comando slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Comando controlling the position from side mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Comando thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that's the end of the fight! Beniamino Comando comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Comando has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
