Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Obi Wan Kenobi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pawel Gabara! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kenobi shoots in looking for a takedown. Gabara tries to sprawl out of it but Kenobi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gabara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gabara stuffs the takedown. Gabara looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gabara wants to pass the guard but Kenobi is defending well. Gabara missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kenobi actively working from the bottom here. Kenobi looking for a kimura from the bottom but Gabara passes into side control! Gabara should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kenobi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Gabara wants to free his trapped foot but Kenobi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kenobi looking for submissions off his back. Gabara trying to control from half guard but Kenobi is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kenobi looking for submissions off his back. Gabara is looking to take a break and control but Kenobi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kenobi wants to get back to full guard. Gabara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kenobi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kenobi gets full guard. Kenobi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gabara should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kenobi has tightened it up now! Gabara should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
