Linhares comes to the cage accompanied by Los Sicarios, Sokol, Koras - A veces. Brown has chosen System Of A Down - Chop Suey! as his entrance music. Hector Linhares has the better chin. The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Django Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown misses with the body kick
and Linhares counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Linhares lands the left hand.
Linhares missing with a left hand there. Brown was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Brown doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Linhares counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Brown throws a low kick but Linhares avoids it.
Decent striking displayed by Linhares there.
Linhares swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Brown.
Linhares throws a shot from downtown. Brown moves away and avoids it.
Brown throws a leg kick but Linhares sees it coming and moves out of range.
Linhares lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Brown backs up against the cage.
Brown is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big left from Linhares misses.
Linhares clobbers Brown with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brown is still on wobbly legs! Can Linhares finish him?
Brown throws a wild hook but Linhares just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Brown gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Linhares raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hector Linhares!
