Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Trejo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trejo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dire Straits- Six Blade Knife. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nogueira is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Trejo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Trejo is pushing Nogueira's head away, looking to escape. Nogueira manages to hold on to the position though.
Nogueira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Trejo, who protects the arm well.

Nogueira goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Trejo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nogueira but great work by Trejo.
Trejo stands up and beckons Nogueira to his feet.

Nogueira closes the distance and clinches up with Trejo, looking for a takedown. Nogueira pushes Trejo against the ropes but Trejo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Trejo lands a big head kick that sends Nogueira tumbling to the mat! Trejo takes a step backwards and waves Nogueira back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nogueira shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Trejo eats them both and turns towards Nogueira to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Trejo has managed to clinch.
Trejo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nogueira fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Trejo tries to close the distance and clinch but Nogueira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Nogueira manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Trejo on his heels. He'll look to pass Trejo's guard now, I'm sure.
Trejo wants to stand up but Nogueira is controlling him.
Nogueira wants to control from the top but Trejo keeps moving.
Nogueira is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Trejo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We're going to have a standup here because Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will probably get the nod.

Trejo throws a chopping leg kick but Nogueira manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nogueira.
Trejo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nogueira throws out the jab.

Trejo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trejo is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nogueira asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nogueira has an Americana. Trejo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nogueira is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nogueira hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
