Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
29 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Cajun Xander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Kint!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kint connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Xander momentarily.
Xander goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Xander takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Xander throws a lazy uppercut
and Kint counters with a nice double leg into side control. Xander won't be happy with that.
Kint wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Xander, who protects the arm well.
Xander is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kint is controlling him well.
Xander is looking for a sweep.
Kint tries to move to mount but Xander blocks the move with his legs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kint is looking to work his way around to Xander's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Xander is controlling an arm, preventing Kint from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Xander tries to buck Kint off but he can't manage it.
Kint seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Xander is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kint wants to control the pace but Xander is squirming around nicely.
Xander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kint goes for an armbar but Xander turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Xander.
Xander drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Xander jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Xander stands up from Kint's guard - Xander perhaps looking for a knockout.

Kint shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Xander sprawls well. Xander wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kint gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kint drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Xander manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kint has Xander in his guard.
