Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ian Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Hemp! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Turner lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Joe Hemp has been cut. Nice straight punches there by Turner. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Turner. Hemp bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hemp working the ground and pound but Turner is defending the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hemp is working Turner over with some ground and pound from side control. Hemp lands some shots froms side control. Hemp is looking to take a break and control but Turner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hemp moves into full mount! Hemp lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hemp has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Turner's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turner is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hemp with a couple of short strikes. Hemp landing punches. Hemp looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hemp connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hemp postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Turner looks a forlorn figure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hemp looking to finish Turner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Turner! Hemp with shots to the head and body - Turner looks very uncomfortable down there. Hemp breaks from Turner's wrist control and lands an elbow. Turner tries to hold on but Hemp postures up. Hemp looking to finish Turner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Turner! Hemp pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hemp is working for a guillotine from mount but Turner frees his head quite easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hemp cracks Turner with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hemp breaks from Turner's wrist control and lands an elbow. Hemp sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Hemp dominating with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hemp pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hemp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hemp landing strikes from the mount and Turner is in trouble! Hemp lands a couple of good shots and Turner has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Turner is trying to remain composed but Hemp is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Turner is covering up but some of the strikes from Hemp are getting through and doing damage.
Hemp scores with punches and elbows. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hemp dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joe Hemp's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hemp shoots in for a takedown but Turner shows good takedown defense. Hemp shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Turner as he avoids it easily. Hemp shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ian Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Hemp. Turner gets a clinch. Hemp wants to take the fight to the mat but Turner manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Turner landing knees to the body.
Hemp is trying to pull guard but Turner turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. A nice glancing elbow lands by Turner. Turner missing with knees to the body.
Turner unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hemp lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Turner trying to stall but Hemp improves his position.

Turner lands an elbow inside that Hemp shrugs off. Turner is looking to control Hemp's arms but Hemp gets an underhook and turns him. Now Turner has his back to the cage. Turner is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Turner for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. A nice glancing elbow lands by Turner.
That has opened up Joe Hemp's cut even more. Hemp managing to block the knees to the body from Turner.
Turner lands an elbow inside that Hemp shrugs off. Turner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Turner working Hemp over with knees to the body. Nice elbow from Turner. Turner blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner lands an elbow inside that Hemp shrugs off. Hemp takes a knee to the side of the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Turner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Turner missing with knees to the body.

The cut above Joe Hemp's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Turner creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hemp's defenses. Turner stalling in the clinch but Hemp improves position. Hemp fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Turner tries a knee to the head but Hemp blocks it.
Turner looking to slow down the pace here. Hemp tries to pull guard but Turner holds him up against the cage and eventually Hemp drops back down to his feet.
Turner lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Turner comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Joe Hemp's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Turner is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Hemp's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
