Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Yoshimitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia has chosen Art of Fighting Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Yoshimitsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Garcia! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshimitsu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Garcia was covering up waiting for the punch and Yoshimitsu finishes the takedown easily into guard. Yoshimitsu being controlled here momentarily. Yoshimitsu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Garcia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yoshimitsu is controlling him. Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Yoshimitsu stays in close to Garcia's body and controls the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Yoshimitsu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcia as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia misses with a two punch combination.
Yoshimitsu shoots in and bounces Garcia off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Garcia trying to control the position.
Yoshimitsu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryo Yoshimitsu just wasn't active enough. Yoshimitsu tries to clinch there but Garcia circles away.
Yoshimitsu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garcia swivels and escapes. Garcia shoots for a double leg takedown but Yoshimitsu sprawls well. He's pushed Garcia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Yoshimitsu. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Yoshimitsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Yoshimitsu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Garcia tries to bench press Yoshimitsu off him but Yoshimitsu keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu controlling the position. Yoshimitsu throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Yoshimitsu tries to score with some ground and pound. Garcia controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Yoshimitsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Garcia regains half guard, as Yoshimitsu was trying to land strikes. Yoshimitsu looks to land a strike but Garcia avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Yoshimitsu's corner is telling him to maintain position. Yoshimitsu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Garcia is keeping the position for now. Yoshimitsu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu pushing down on Garcia's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Yoshimitsu is nestled in close to Garcia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Yoshimitsu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garcia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yoshimitsu lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Yoshimitsu prevents Garcia from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryo Yoshimitsu dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Garcia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yoshimitsu is controlling him. Garcia wants to sweep but no luck. Yoshimitsu looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Garcia pulls Yoshimitsu in to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Yoshimitsu gets a double leg takedown into Garcia's guard. Garcia working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yoshimitsu. Yoshimitsu stays in close to Garcia's body and controls the position. Garcia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yoshimitsu postures up in Garcia's guard and throws a big left but Garcia blocks it. Yoshimitsu advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Yoshimitsu wants to control but Garcia is keeping him busy. Well, if Yoshimitsu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yoshimitsu is trying to control the action in half guard but Garcia is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryo Yoshimitsu. Garcia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Yoshimitsu is trying to escape back to his feet but Garcia uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Garcia has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu moves in looking to clinch but Garcia pushes him off. Garcia stuffs the takedown attempt from Yoshimitsu. Yoshimitsu gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Yoshimitsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia misses with a takedown attempt - Yoshimitsu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Garcia gets a clinch. Yoshimitsu prevents a takedown attempt there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garcia pulls guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ryo Yoshimitsu will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ryo Yoshimitsu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yoshimitsu kicks Garcia off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshimitsu instigates a clinch. Garcia prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yoshimitsu tries a body shot but Garcia blocks it.

Garcia drops down looking for an ankle pick but Yoshimitsu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Yoshimitsu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Yoshimitsu passes to side control.

You can see the frustration on Garcia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yoshimitsu just content to control the position. Yoshimitsu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Garcia for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu taking a break here but Garcia is having none of it and regains half guard. Garcia trying to control but Yoshimitsu postures up.

Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yoshimitsu paws at him with a jab and circles away. Yoshimitsu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Garcia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcia as he avoids it easily. Yoshimitsu doesn't succeed with the takedown and Garcia counters by clinching up. Garcia breaks the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Garcia or perhaps it was just good defense by Yoshimitsu which made him look bad. Garcia wants to clinch but Yoshimitsu slips to the side and Yoshimitsu counters with a right hand to the body. Robert Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryo Yoshimitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia fails with an attempt to clinch.
Garcia closes the distance and clinches. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yoshimitsu has picked Garcia up - he's going for a ride! Yoshimitsu dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yoshimitsu is looking to take a break and control but Garcia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Garcia regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Yoshimitsu.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryo Yoshimitsu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yoshimitsu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
