Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Godsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Marston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Godsey comes to the cage accompanied by It's Raining Men. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as John Marston enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Godsey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Marston! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Godsey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marston. Godsey throws a jab but it's blocked by Marston. Godsey misses with a low kick. Godsey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marston to the mat! Marston manages to get full guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Marston trying to control the position here. Godsey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Godsey content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Godsey working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Marston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Godsey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Godsey is working Marston over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marston is trying to control the position but Godsey postures up. Marston will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Godsey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marston on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Godsey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marston works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Godsey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marston working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Godsey. Godsey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Godsey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Godsey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Godsey is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Godsey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Godsey lands a couple of digs. Godsey is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Godsey postures up and lands a big shot to Marston's brow. Marston wants to get back to his feet but Godsey is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marston has momentary wrist control but Godsey slips an elbow through the middle. Godsey postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Godsey controls from within his opponent's guard. Godsey advances position into side control! Godsey landing a few strikes. Godsey working the body and head with strikes. Godsey works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Godsey creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Godsey is putting a hurting on Marston here, landing some big shots from side control.
Marston is rocked! Godsey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Marston to see if he's OK. Marston is still in real trouble! Can Godsey finish him? Godsey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marston has escaped the position, nice work there. Godsey trying to control the position but Marston is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Godsey cracks Marston with a big right hand but Marston just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Godsey creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Godsey cracks Marston with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Godsey immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Marston is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Godsey!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trevor Godsey! Trevor Godsey very nearly forgot to thank KAISER amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
