Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Severed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sao Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sao Marcos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcos looks to score with a jab to the body but Severed is just out of range. Severed clinches. Severed pulls guard effortlessly. Severed keeping moving, preventing Marcos from controlling successfully. Marcos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Severed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marcos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Marcos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Marcos wants to control from the top but Severed keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Severed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marcos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Marcos wants to control from the top but Severed keeps moving. Severed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Marcos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Severed works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Severed wants to stand and escape but Marcos is having none of it. Marcos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marcos trying to stand up but can't free himself from Severed's guard. Severed avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Marcos wanted to stand there but Severed had control of the position. Severed pulls Marcos in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Severed closes the distance and pushes Marcos back into the cage. Marcos wants to break free but Severed has control.
Severed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Severed blocks a head kick by Marcos.
Marcos misses with the combination.
Severed displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marcos. Marcos slaps away a takedown attempt from Severed, before circling back to the center of the mat. Severed misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marcos.
Severed gets a double leg takedown into Marcos's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marcos is looking to stand back up but Severed counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Marcos.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Severed throwing shots but Marcos is blocking nicely. Severed is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marcos is just riding it out for now. Severed eventually gives up the hold. Marcos is not content to let Severed control the position. Severed is really struggling to control Marcos but he's trying to hold on to the position. Severed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Marcos avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Severed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcos tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Severed manages to move to mount!
Marcos sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Marcos is pressing down on Severed's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Severed works a leg free and moves into half guard. Marcos throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Severed is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Marcos reverses the position - he's now on top in Severed's guard. Severed throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Severed is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marcos wants to control from the top but Severed keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Severed dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The fight stays on the outside here - Severed looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marcos slaps away a takedown attempt from Severed, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dan Severed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Marcos fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Severed shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marcos as he jumps to the side. Marcos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Severed moves away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Marcos is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Severed throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Marcos can't break the clinch.
Marcos is looking to break free of the clinch but Severed has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Severed lands an elbow inside. Severed prevents Marcos from breaking the clinch. Severed is stalling here.
Severed jumps into guard, dragging Marcos to the mat.
Marcos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Severed wants to sweep but no luck. Marcos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Marcos throws a strike but Severed rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Marcos working for a triangle but Severed defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Severed trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dan Severed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Marcos wants to stand up but Severed is controlling him. Severed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Marcos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Marcos wants to get back to his feet but Severed is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcos manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Marcos is breathing heavily. Severed tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marcos swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Severed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Severed looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Severed with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Marcos is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Severed sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Marcos defending well though. Marcos wants to get back to full guard. Marcos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Severed is working away from the top position though. Severed prevents Marcos from standing back up.
Marcos is trying to maintain the position but Severed is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Marcos takes the fight into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marcos is trying to push Severed away but Severed has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Severed keeps control of Marcos as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Severed gets control of Marcos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Severed will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sao Marcos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sao Marcos. Marcos wants to clinch but Severed slips to the side and Severed counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Severed shoots for a takedown but Marcos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Severed tries to clinch but Marcos is having none of it. Marcos slaps away a takedown attempt from Severed, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marcos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Severed manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Marcos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marcos misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Severed on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Marcos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Severed. Marcos throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Marcos fails with the takedown. Marcos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Severed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marcos gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Marcos is trying to break the clinch but Severed is controlling him. Severed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marcos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Severed. Severed takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Severed shoots for a takedown but Marcos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Marcos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Severed but Severed pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sao Marcos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marcos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Severed takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Marcos connects with a crisp jab. Marcos throws a sloppy head kick and Severed moves out of range easily. Severed throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marcos was covering up waiting for the punch and Severed finishes the takedown easily into guard. Severed decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Marcos, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Severed tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marcos swivels and escapes. Nice body kick from Marcos. Marcos is looking to clinch. Marcos works over Severed's head and body with a nice combination. Marcos misses with a two punch combination.
Severed works Marcos's body with a nice hook. Sao Marcos seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Severed fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marcos to the ground. Severed is now in Marcos's guard. Marcos trying to control the position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marcos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Severed. I think Severed has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
