Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Wesley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBride comes to the cage accompanied by Kick start my heart. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBride scores with a head kick.
McBride fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wesley avoids it really well and circles away.
McBride scores with a three punch combo!

McBride gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wesley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Wesley looking to throw knees to the head but McBride is blocking nicely.

McBride's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wesley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McBride.
McBride misses with a hook. Wesley ducked under it nicely.
Wesley fails with an attempt to clinch.

and McBride counters with a nice body kick.
McBride scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Wesley tries a head kick but it misses.
Wesley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McBride's head backwards.
A left and a right from McBride both land. Nice combination.

McBride rushes Wesley and presses him up against the cage.

McBride pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McBride falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wesley counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
McBride is breathing heavily.
Wesley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McBride but McBride pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McBride tries to clinch up but Wesley circles away and keeps his distance.

McBride clinches up against the cage.

McBride has picked Wesley up - he's going for a ride! McBride dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wesley tries to get to full guard but McBride has control of the leg.

McBride is working for an americana but Wesley has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst McBride was thinking about the submission.

Wesley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McBride can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wesley has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McBride doesn't defend quickly enough and Wesley has managed to lock this one up! Can McBride escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Wesley on a fantastic submission victory.
