The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdemes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Thoughts is concentrating on defense, preventing Valdemes from advancing position.
Thoughts works his way to full guard. Good work.
Valdemes drops back looking for a leg! Thoughts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thoughts manages to kick Valdemes off! Valdemes jumps back into Thoughts's guard.
Thoughts has Valdemes pulled in close to control his posture.
Thoughts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valdemes is one step ahead there.
Valdemes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thoughts manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Valdemes has Thoughts in his guard.
Valdemes looking for a guillotine here but Thoughts defends easily.
Thoughts postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Thoughts has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Valdemes to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Thoughts is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Valdemes pulls down on the head and he's put Thoughts to sleep! This one is all over!
