Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Castanon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcom McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor gets a double leg takedown into Castanon's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

McGregor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
McGregor's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Malcom McGregor.
McGregor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Castanon to the mat! Castanon manages to get full guard.
McGregor is working Castanon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Castanon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Castanon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGregor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McGregor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McGregor wants to pass the guard but Castanon is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Malcom McGregor hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and McGregor counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGregor is looking for a kimura but Castanon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGregor to get the leverage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McGregor is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that McGregor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McGregor has eaten all the pies!

McGregor gets to mount! Castanon was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Castanon is desperately trying to improve his position but McGregor has a good base and remains in mount.

McGregor has control of Castanon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Castanon regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGregor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McGregor has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Castanon's face.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Castanon gets tackled into the cage by McGregor. McGregor maintains the clinch.
McGregor wants a takedown but no success here.

Castanon is looking to break free of the clinch but McGregor has double underhooks.
McGregor lands with a left to the head.
McGregor tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Castanon smiles and moves away.
McGregor dodges the punch combination from Castanon.
McGregor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McGregor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McGregor is trying for a kimura here. Castanon looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! McGregor wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Malcom McGregor!
After winning the bout, Malcom McGregor thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
