Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jahn Blom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vivian Peters! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters lands a lovely overhand right. Peters closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Peters is trying to control the action in half guard but Blom is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Blom wants to control but Peters is keeping busy.
Peters trying to control the action but Blom is working from the bottom. Peters stalling away here and it's allowed Blom to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Blom pulls Peters in to control the position. Peters loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Peters throws an elbow that misses. Blom uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Peters's guard. Nice move by Blom! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peters can do anything to dispel that myth. Blom slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters missing with punches from the bottom.
Blom passes the guard and advances to mount! Peters tries to improve his position but instead Blom has taken his back! Peters prevents Blom from getting a body triangle. Peters tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blom tries to keep control of the position but Peters is staying busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Blom has good solid back control here. Blom's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Jahn Blom wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Peters dives in and scores a takedown into Blom's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters wants to stand but Blom is controlling his posture from full guard. Blom working a defensive guard here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Blom is on top in guard.
Peters keeping moving, preventing Blom from controlling successfully. Blom is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jahn Blom wasn't doing enough on the ground. Peters rushes Blom and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Peters drags the fight down to the ground.
Peters working a defensive guard but Blom manages to pass into side control anyway.
Blom slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Peters. Peters defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Blom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Blom lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Blom trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jahn Blom will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Peters looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Blom! Blom tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Peters wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Peters tries to stand but Blom is controlling his head. Blom tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Peters is working Blom over with some ground and pound from side control. Peters scores with punches from side control. Blom can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters misses with the ground and pound. Blom struggling a bit here. Peters throwing shots but missing, from side control. You can see the frustration on Blom's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Peters scores with a couple of short elbows. Blom takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Peters throws a strike aimed at the side of Blom's head but Blom avoids it well. Peters misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Peters throwing strikes but Blom manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Peters is still trying to improve position. Peters looks to move to half guard but instead Blom has passed into mount! Damn! Blom cracks Peters with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Vivian Peters has got the better of the ground game so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blom prevents Peters from getting the reversal. Blom tries to control but Peters wriggling away. Peters throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Peters can't escape the position.
Peters wants to control but Blom is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters manages to regain half guard. Good work. Blom is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Peters is in all sorts of trouble here.
Blom swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Peters is now in Blom's guard. A big mistake from Blom there, giving up the dominant position! Peters would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Peters pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blom is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blom looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Peters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Peters throwing strikes from guard but Blom blocks nicely. Peters is looking to work some ground and pound but Blom has wrist control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Blom is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Blom moves nicely into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vivian Peters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Peters throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Peters throws a strike but Blom rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Peters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Peters pulls Blom in close to prevent any damage. Peters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Blom trying to control but Peters is working from the bottom. Peters working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blom keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Blom stops Peters from getting back to his feet.
Blom with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Peters tries to get to full guard but Blom has control of the leg. Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Blom controlling the action here.
Jahn Blom has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Peters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blom sprawls well initially but Peters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blom is refusing to be controlled, as Peters sits in half guard. Peters throwing shots but Blom is blocking nicely. Blom wants to control but Peters is keeping busy.
Blom keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Peters controlling the action here. Peters thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blom lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Peters in particular looking to stall. Peters not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Peters thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Blom's head. Blom has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peters is working away from the top position though. Peters wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blom keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peters prevents Blom from standing back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Vivian Peters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Peters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
