Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonard Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonard Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis cracks Diaz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Diaz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Diaz feints and then cracks Lewis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lewis down.
Diaz tries to clinch up but Lewis circles away and keeps his distance.
Lewis slips under a jab from Diaz.
Diaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Diaz has closed the distance and engaged Lewis in a clinch.
Lewis tries to work over Diaz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lewis.

Diaz has Lewis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Diaz pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lewis tumbling to the mat - Diaz dives into Lewis's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Diaz.

Diaz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lewis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lewis preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lewis defends it well.

Lewis is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lewis avoid being mounted?

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lewis has managed to free his arm - good work.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Leonard Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A punch combination from Diaz misses.
Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab.
Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Lewis which made him look bad.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lewis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Diaz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Diaz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
