Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kiyoshi Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto comes to the cage accompanied by Carl Douglas - Kung fu fighting. Hall has chosen Serial Killa as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Hall!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto misses the shot to the body.
Some wild striking there from Matsumoto.
Hall scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hall lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Matsumoto throws a hook but Hall avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Hall misses.
Hall takes one to the chin there.
Hall lands with a shot to the body.
Matsumoto ducks under a wild hook from Hall.
Matsumoto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hall.
Matsumoto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hall manages to avoid it.
Matsumoto wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hall looks to score with a jab to the body but Matsumoto is just out of range.

Hall throws a leg kick which misses Matsumoto's front leg but catches the back leg as Matsumoto tries to avoid it.
Hall connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Matsumoto momentarily.
Kiyoshi Matsumoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hall cracks Matsumoto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Hall with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matsumoto to score with a decent uppercut.
Matsumoto throws a lazy right hand but Hall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hall ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Matsumoto cracks a nice hook into Hall's ribs.
Hall throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hall tries to score with a low kick but Matsumoto moves his leg out of the way.
Matsumoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Matsumoto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hall can pounce on him.

and Matsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hall tries to clinch but Matsumoto is having none of it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hall throws a hook to the side of Matsumoto's head but Matsumoto sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hall connects with a solid leg kick.
Matsumoto is looking to wear down Hall with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Matsumoto looks to land a right hand but Hall moved out of range.
Hall looks to land a body kick but Matsumoto moved away.
Hall will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Matsumoto counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Matsumoto won't allow Hall to get back to his feet.
Matsumoto wants to pass the guard but Hall is keeping the position.
Matsumoto is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matsumoto wants to control from the top but Hall keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kiyoshi Matsumoto will probably get the nod.

Hall scores with a decent looking hook.
Matsumoto is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Matsumoto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hall loads up on a big right hand but Matsumoto slips the punch.
Hall dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Matsumoto. That did some damage!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hall drops his hands momentarily and Matsumoto takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Hall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Matsumoto throws the left hand but Hall avoids the punch easily.
Matsumoto moves out of range of the body kick from Hall.

Hall feints and then cracks Matsumoto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Matsumoto down.

Matsumoto lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Matsumoto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hall.
Hall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Matsumoto ducks right into an uppercut from Hall.

Matsumoto lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kiyoshi Matsumoto!
A relieved looking Kiyoshi Matsumoto thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
