Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathew Ore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Watson! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ore tries to close the distance and clinch but Watson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Watson tries to avoid it but Ore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Watson to the ground. Watson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Watson throws a head kick but Ore moves out of range.
Watson looks to land a right hand but Ore moved out of range. Ore moves into the clinch. Watson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Watson. Ore has Watson pressed against the cage.
Watson is struggling to control the position. Ore can't get the takedown.
Ore stalling the fight.
Watson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Watson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ore is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ore ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ore no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ore controls Watson momentarily but Watson frees himself. Watson is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson won't allow Ore to sweep him here. Watson trying to control but Ore is working from the bottom. Watson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watson on the ground. Ore is looking for a sweep. Ore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Watson in side control, just content to control the action for now. Watson working the head with strikes.

Watson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. It looks like Watson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Watson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ore to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Watson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Mathew Ore has been cut. Roy Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Watson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ore manages to avoid it. Watson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ore circles away. Ore drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ore has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Watson is proving hard to escape from. Watson is pulling down on Ore's head to control his posture. Ore is looking to advance position but Watson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Watson controlling his opponent. Ore sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Watson prevents Ore from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ore won't allow Watson to pass to mount. Watson works his way into full mount! Ore tries to hold on but Watson pushes him away. Watson controlling from mount. Watson looking to control but Ore is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ore throwing hammer fists to the chest of Watson. What's that going to do exactly? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ore. Ore has knee on belly momentarily but Watson bucks him off and regains half guard. Watson wants to improve his position but Ore is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ore wants to stand up but Watson manages to regain full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ore wants to stand but Watson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Watson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ore wants to stand and escape but instead Watson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Watson has eaten all the pies! Watson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ore works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Watson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ore working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ore looking for a guillotine here but Watson defends easily.
Ore tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ore wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Watson is now in half guard. Watson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Ore is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Watson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ore is looking to escape. Watson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Watson cracks Ore with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Watson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! BOOM! Watson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Ore is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ore is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Ore can't escape the position.
Watson content just to control the position here. Let's hope that Watson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Watson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mathew Ore's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Ore tries to clinch and Watson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Watson. Ore is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Watson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Watson wants to get back to striking at distance but Ore won't allow it.

Watson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ore doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Watson. Watson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ore wants to get back to full guard. Ore is staying active underneath Watson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ore wants to control but Watson is keeping busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roy Watson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Ore closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Watson wants to control but Ore is keeping busy.
Ore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watson keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Watson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ore wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Ore throws a big elbow that misses. Watson pulls Ore in close to prevent any damage. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ore wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving.

Mathew Ore has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Ore looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ore with a lazy takedown attempt and Watson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mathew Ore. That's going to take a lot out of him. Watson fails to land with a series of punches.
Ore tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Watson stuffs the takedown attempt from Ore. Ore gets slowly back to his feet. Watson shoots in and gets a takedown into Ore's guard. Ore wants to stand and escape but Watson is having none of it. Watson passes into half guard. Watson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ore is trying to control but can't.
Still in half guard, Watson seems content to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Roy Watson wasn't active enough on the ground. Watson moves into range and clinches up with Ore. Watson is leaning against Ore and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Watson slowing the pace effectively. Mathew Ore has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roy Watson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ore throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Watson blocks it with crossed arms.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Watson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Watson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
