PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Prior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stanley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Terror - One with the Underdogs. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elliott Stanley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shane Prior!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prior has his takedown stuffed

and Stanley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stanley is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Stanley is pressed up against the cage. Prior has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stanley down to the mat. Stanley avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Elliott Stanley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Prior drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stanley looking to control.
Stanley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Prior on the ground.
Prior lands a couple of digs.
Prior tries to free his leg and advance position but Stanley is retaining full guard.

Stanley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Prior can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Prior lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stanley working for a triangle but Prior defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prior passes Stanley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Prior should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Prior lands strikes from half guard.
Stanley taking some punishment here, with Prior in his half guard.
Prior takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Stanley actively working from the bottom here.
Stanley wants to control but Prior is keeping busy.
Prior lands with a punch from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stanley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stanley controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Prior is looking for a kimura here.
Prior seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stanley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Prior seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Prior tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stanley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stanley is not content to let Prior control the position.
Stanley wants to control but Prior is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Prior working the head and body with strikes.
Prior prevents Stanley from standing back up.
Stanley wants to improve his position but Prior is controlling well.
Stanley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Prior.

Prior is working for a submission of some sort.
Prior controlling the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Prior is just content to waste time from the top position. Stanley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Stanley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Prior is in close to Stanley's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Stanley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Prior stands and throws Stanley's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Stanley is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Prior is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Prior dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Prior decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Prior trying to control from half guard but Stanley is working away.
Prior might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stanley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Prior connects with a nice short shot to Stanley's temple.
Stanley wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prior passes the guard and advances to mount!
Stanley is squirming around, avoiding Prior's attempts to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prior lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Stanley is rocked!
Stanley takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Stanley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Prior! That's really hurt Stanley and he's turned his back - Prior keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Prior jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Prior!
