PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Inc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thin Lizzy - Angel of Death. Inc has chosen Bad Moon Rising as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Inc throws a chopping leg kick but Alves manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Inc tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Inc with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Alves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Inc tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alves sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Inc somewhat.
Alves stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Inc.
Inc fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Inc lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Inc throws a shot from downtown. Alves moves away and avoids it.
Inc connects with a good right hand that stumbles Alves. Alves circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Good leg kick by Inc there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Alves enables Inc to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Inc is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Inc postures up in Alves's guard and throws a big left but Alves blocks it.
Inc landing some decent shots from guard.
Alves has momentary wrist control but Inc slips an elbow through the middle.

Inc throws a leg kick
and Alves makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Alves moves into the clinch.
Alves tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Inc's elbow.
Inc has a couple of punches blocked by Alves.
A right hand to the body from Alves.
A head punch on the inside from Inc fails to land.
Alves lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Inc backwards.
Inc has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Inc struggles to land a body shot inside as Alves controls his hands.
A short body shot lands from Alves as the two fighters clinch.

Inc escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Inc buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Inc feints a jab promting Alves to slip. Inc then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Alves slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Inc shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Inc wants to control but Alves is keeping him busy.

Inc is thwarting Alves's attempts to control the position.
Alves is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Alves tries to get to full guard but Inc has control of the leg.
Inc wants to free his trapped foot but Alves is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Inc trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Alves manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Alves is controlling an arm, preventing Inc from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Alves is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Inc is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Alves avoids a series of strikes thrown by Inc.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves tries to hold on but Inc postures up.
Alves is wriggling around trying to escape.

A close second round but Dick Inc will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Alves feints and then cracks Inc's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Inc down.
Alves throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Inc throws a head kick that misses.
Alves lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Inc at a distance.
Alves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

It looks like Dick Inc has been cut.
Inc keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Inc tries to land a leg kick but Alves saw it coming and moves away.
Alves lands a nice looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Inc throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Inc throws a half hearted mid kick.
Inc tries to score with a low kick but Alves moves his leg out of the way.

Alves fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Alves tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Inc is able to avoid easily.
Alves lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alves scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Inc doesn't seem bothered though.

Alves tries to work over Inc's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Inc manages to break the clinch.
Inc walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Alves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Inc is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Inc eventually gives up the hold.
Inc throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Inc throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Alves to regain full guard.

Alves is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Inc defends well.
Inc keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Alves's head.

Inc stands and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Inc doesn't manage to clinch there - Alves circles away.

Alves rushes Inc and presses him up against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Alves.

Inc tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Inc pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Inc dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alves. That did some damage!
Alves tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Alves is looking to wear down Inc with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Inc keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Inc postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alves is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Inc, into his guard.

Inc wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Alves has taken Inc's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Inc has been forced to tap!
