Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jewells McGiver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sang Lupus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jewells McGiver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGiver feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McGiver drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGiver jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells McGiver's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lupus is looking to stand up but McGiver isn't so interested in that idea.
McGiver drops back looking for a leg! Lupus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lupus manages to kick McGiver off! McGiver jumps back into Lupus's guard.

Lupus looking for a guillotine here but McGiver defends easily.
McGiver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McGiver missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McGiver scores with a takedown into Lupus's guard.
Lupus throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Lupus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGiver's waist but McGiver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lupus off to one side.
McGiver looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McGiver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McGiver is breathing heavily.
McGiver looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Lupus is looking to reverse the position.
McGiver misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McGiver decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lupus to his feet.
Lupus looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. McGiver manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lupus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McGiver is desperately trying to improve his position but Lupus has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lupus trying to control but McGiver is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGiver can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and McGiver counters with a shoot takedown. Lupus fights it but they end up in guard.
McGiver thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lupus pushes McGiver off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lupus stuffs the takedown attempt from McGiver. McGiver gets slowly back to his feet.
Lupus gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McGiver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lupus won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McGiver stands up and beckons Lupus to his feet.

Jewells McGiver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sang Lupus.
McGiver shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

McGiver seems to be looking for submissions.

Lupus missing with punches from the bottom.
Lupus preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
McGiver passes to full mount!
McGiver has hold of Lupus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lupus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lupus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McGiver looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Jewells McGiver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lupus wants to control but McGiver is keeping busy.
McGiver working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lupus's thigh. Lupus counters though and makes it back to full guard.

McGiver has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lupus is proving hard to escape from.

McGiver sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lupus's guard.

McGiver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGiver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

McGiver is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lupus is trying to escape and McGiver transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lupus is forced to tap! Nice work there by McGiver! Very nice indeed!
