The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo fails with the takedown.
Aldo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pain swivels and escapes.
Aldo closes the distance but Pain moves to the side
and Pain makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Aldo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Aldo is looking to clinch.
Aldo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pain is fending him off so far but Aldo persists. Nope, Pain circles away and we're back to standing.
Majah Pain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Aldo.

Pain tries to sprawl but Aldo drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Aldo is looking for a kimura but Pain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aldo to get the leverage.

Aldo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jose Aldo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aldo misses with a kick to the body.
Pain circles away from the clinch attempt.
Aldo dives in and grabs Pain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pain pushes down on Aldo's head and hops out.

Aldo moves in looking to clinch but Pain pushes him off.

Aldo ducks right into an uppercut from Pain.
Aldo wants to clinch up but Pain keeps it at a distance.

Pain throws out a loose jab but Aldo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Aldo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Pain counters with a flying knee. Nice.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aldo.
Pain slaps away a takedown attempt from Aldo, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pain pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Aldo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pain misses with a double jab.
Aldo darts in and clinches Pain up against the cage.
Pain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pain throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pain throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Aldo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pain plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Aldo. Aldo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Pain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Aldo is rocked!
Aldo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pain tries to avoid it but Aldo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pain to the ground. Pain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Aldo walks into a straight right hand from Pain.
Aldo is still on wobbly legs! Can Pain finish him?
Pain circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Aldo to the canvas! Aldo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Pain keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Majah Pain!
