Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanimir Kurdov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipo Lakopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lakopa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Armaggedon kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filipo Lakopa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lakopa sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Kurdov to the ground! Lakopa dives into full mount looking to finish!


It looks like Stanimir Kurdov has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lakopa tries to control but Kurdov wriggling away.
Lakopa is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kurdov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kurdov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lakopa sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kurdov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lakopa defends it nicely.

Kurdov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lakopa for as long as he can get away with.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lakopa shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kurdov eats them both and turns towards Lakopa to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lakopa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kurdov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kurdov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
