Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Koner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vito Starkard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Starkard tries to clinch there but Koner circles away.
Starkard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Koner sprawls well initially but Starkard persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Koner is trying to get back to full guard. Starkard is thwarting Koner's attempts to control the position. Starkard keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Koner trying to control but Starkard postures up.
Koner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Starkard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Starkard with a flurry of punches that miss. Koner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Starkard gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Starkard keeping moving, preventing Koner from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Koner postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Starkard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Koner, into his guard. Koner is adopting a defensive guard.
Konrad Koner has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Starkard fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Starkard looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starkard takes a body punch but keeps moving. Starkard throws a head kick that misses. No luck with that takedown attempt from Koner. Starkard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Starkard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vito Starkard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koner looking to score a takedown here. Starkard is defending well but Koner drives through and ends up in Starkard's guard.

Koner shoots in for a takedown but Starkard shows good takedown defense. Starkard jabbing away but nothing is landing. Starkard closes the distance and pushes Koner back into the cage. Starkard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Koner smiles and moves away.
Starkard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koner's waist but Koner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Starkard off to one side. Koner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Starkard's guard. Koner postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Starkard wants to sweep here but Koner controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Starkard's head. Starkard keeping moving, preventing Koner from controlling successfully. Koner swivels though and keeps the full guard. Koner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Starkard's guard.

Koner drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Starkard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Koner has Starkard in his guard. Starkard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Koner wants to get back to his feet but Starkard is in a dominant position and won't allow it. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Koner holds on and takes a little breather. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Starkard fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Konrad Koner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Starkard shoots in looking for a takedown. Koner tries to sprawl out of it but Starkard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Koner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Koner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Koner is looking to take a break and control but Starkard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Starkard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Koner is looking for a kimura but Starkard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Koner to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Starkard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Koner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Koner uses his free foot to push down on Starkard's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Starkard. Konrad Koner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Koner is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Starkard is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Starkard flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Koner anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Starkard and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Koner slips an arm under Starkard chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Koner has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Koner is squeezing on Starkard like an anaconda would it's prey. Starkard fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Konrad Koner! In his post fight interview, Konrad Koner started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
