The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Cruz tries to clinch but Joniec moves out of range.

and De La Cruz finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

De La Cruz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joniec looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
De La Cruz wants to control but Joniec is keeping him busy.
De La Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Joniec knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that Droski De La Cruz will probably get the nod.
