Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tenchi Mu Yo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Mayweather (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Mayweather is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tenchi Mu Yo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Mayweather!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mu Yo closes the distance and clinches up with Mayweather, looking for a takedown. Mu Yo pushes Mayweather against the cage but Mayweather circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mu Yo avoids the head kick by Mayweather.

Mu Yo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mu Yo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mu Yo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mayweather really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mu Yo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mayweather wants to stand and escape but Mu Yo is having none of it.

Mu Yo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mu Yo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mu Yo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mayweather for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tenchi Mu Yo just wasn't active enough.
Mayweather lands a jab-cross combination.
Mu Yo shoots in looking for a takedown but Mayweather manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mu Yo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mayweather rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mu Yo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mayweather tries to bum rush Mu Yo with a series of wild strikes but Mu Yo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mu Yo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mayweather gets tackled into the cage by Mu Yo. Mu Yo maintains the clinch.
Mu Yo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mayweather fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mu Yo closes the distance and clinches up with Mayweather, looking for a takedown. Mu Yo pushes Mayweather against the cage but Mayweather circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mu Yo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mayweather.
Mu Yo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mayweather sprawls well. Mayweather wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mu Yo gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mayweather looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mayweather enables Mu Yo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mayweather manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mu Yo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee asks Mu Yo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mu Yo prefers to stall for the moment though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mayweather can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mu Yo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mayweather is surviving well by controlling Mu Yo's body position as best he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mayweather is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mu Yo shoots in looking for a takedown but Mayweather manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mu Yo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mayweather's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Tenchi Mu Yo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mu Yo misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Mu Yo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mayweather is pushing Mu Yo's head away, looking to escape. Mu Yo manages to hold on to the position though.
Mu Yo throws a strike aimed at the side of Mayweather's head but Mayweather avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mayweather is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mu Yo has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Mu Yo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mayweather will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mu Yo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Tenchi Mu Yo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Mayweather gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mu Yo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
