Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doherty has chosen Evil Boy as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luther Doherty! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rivera is defended easily by Doherty. Rivera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doherty sprawls well. Doherty wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rivera gets slowly back to his feet. Rivera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doherty swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mountain Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rivera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Oooooh!!! Doherty has knocked Rivera down with a huge combo! Doherty steps away and waves a wobbly Rivera back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Mountain Rivera has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Doherty gets a clinch. Oh Rivera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Doherty works on Rivera's body with a couple of short punches. Rivera is breathing heavily. Rivera being controlled against the cage. Rivera wants a takedown.

Rivera seems to have got his legs back now. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Doherty takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Doherty landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Doherty lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rivera backwards.

A nice right hand lands inside from Doherty. Rivera tries to score a body lock takedown but Doherty shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Doherty lands a knee to the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doherty is working Rivera over against the cage. Doherty lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Doherty lands a good knee to the midsection. Rivera won't want to take too many of those. Doherty has Rivera pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Rivera is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Doherty - that's hurt Rivera badly! Oh, another knee lands and Rivera is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Rivera doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Luther Doherty! In his post fight interview, Luther Doherty started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
