Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Heath Chappell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rage Valley. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Heath Chappell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Scott!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chappell bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Scott moves out of range as Chappell throws a body kick.
Heath Chappell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chappell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scott somewhat.
Chappell throws a wild body kick that Scott sees coming a mile off.
Chappell lands a leg kick that knocks Scott off balance momentarily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chappell.

Scott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Chappell's half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Scott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chappell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Scott has Chappell in his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Scott has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Chappell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chappell has managed to get both his arms back between Scott's legs - danger averted.

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chappell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Heath Chappell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chappell on his heels. He'll look to pass Chappell's guard now, I'm sure.

Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
