And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightning lands a nice hook to Foote's body. Foote takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lightning misses with a hook
and Foote counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foote.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Foote throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Foote accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Foote lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lightning avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lightning wants to stand up but Foote is controlling him.
Foote not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Foote forces his way into half guard.

Foote looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Foote controlling the pace.
Lightning pushes Foote off looking to stand but Foote dives back in and keeps control.
Foote slows the pace down in half guard.
Foote throwing shots but Lightning is blocking nicely.
Foote winds up and cracks Lightning with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Foote thows a huge punch but Lightning dodges it nicely.
Foote throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Foote in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Foote has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Foote is nestled in close to Lightning, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Foote is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lightning sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lightning pushes Foote off looking to stand but Foote dives back in and keeps control.
Foote takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Foote is looking to advance position but Lightning won't allow it.
Foote in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lightning tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Foote!
