Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Rando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Corvo Damia!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rando slips a jab and a cross from Damia.
Damia swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rando.
Rando throws the left hand but Damia avoids the punch easily.
Damia throws a right and a left that Rando avoids nicely.
Damia cracks Rando with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Rando gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Damia misses with a looping left.
Rando darts in and clinches Damia up against the cage.
Rando breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rando closes the distance and pushes Damia back into the cage.
Damia gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rando had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Damia defends it easily.
Damia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Damia can do anything to dispel that myth.

Damia wants to get back to his feet but Rando is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rando accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Damia wants to get back to his feet but Rando is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Damia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rando throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Damia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Damia wants to stand and escape but Rando is having none of it.
Damia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rando. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rando ducks under a wild hook from Damia.
Rando doesn't manage to clinch there - Damia circles away.
Damia throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rando sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rando gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rando has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Damia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rando is breathing heavily.
Damia tries to break the clinch but Rando is controlling the position.

Rando throws a sloppy head kick and Damia moves out of range easily.
Damia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Damia misses with an uppercut. Rando saw that one coming.
Damia throws a shot from downtown. Rando moves away and avoids it.
Rando tries for a takedown but Damia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chris Rando is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Damia loads up on a big right hand but Rando slips the punch.

Damia might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Damia shoots for a takedown but Rando saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rando throws a right hand that Damia ducks under and follows up with a left that Damia also avoids with ease.
Damia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rando as he jumps to the side.
Damia takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Damia misses with a few strikes there.
Corvo Damia seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rando clinches with his opponent.

Damia tries for a takedown but Rando manages to get underhooks.
Chris Rando has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corvo Damia.

Damia bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rando's head backwards.

and Damia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Corvo Damia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
