Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Mortensson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pikari shoots in for a double leg but Mortensson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mortensson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pikari might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mortensson seems to be working for a kimura but Pikari defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pikari feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pikari is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pikari is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mortensson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pikari to the mat. Pikari regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Pikari had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mortensson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pikari Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mortensson's back instead.
