Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Kelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis Hicks will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Kelvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lewis Hicks!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelvin as he jumps to the side.
Hicks throws a combination. Kelvin tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hicks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelvin's waist but Kelvin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hicks off to one side.

Kelvin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hicks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kelvin is in Hicks's guard.
Kelvin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kelvin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hicks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kelvin defends it easily.
Kelvin is in close to Hicks's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Hicks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kelvin is aware though and is defending well.
Hicks looks winded!
Kelvin postures up.
Hicks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kelvin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kelvin connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kelvin passes Hicks's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelvin passes to side control.
Kelvin cracks Hicks with a big right hand but Hicks just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kelvin just content to control the position.

Kelvin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Hicks is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carlos Kelvin!
