Ball comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hammer Smashed Face kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martello wants to clinch up but Ball keeps it at a distance.

Ball cracks Martello with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Max Martello has been cut.
Martello blocks a head kick by Ball.
Martello tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ball was well out of range. Poor timing from Martello.

Martello shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ball napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Martello goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ball has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Martello but great work by Ball.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ball lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Martello down.
Ball has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
