The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crook walks into a stiff left hand from Jones.
Jab, jab by Jones - just one landing.
Nice defenses there by Crook.
Crook scores with a jab. Jones acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Crook takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A bone on bone clash there as Crook blocks the leg kick.
Crook swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones misses with a hook from the clinch.
Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Crook's elbow.
Jones misses with an elbow over the top.
Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Crook controls his hands.
Crook throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Joness head.

Crook escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Crook misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely.
Crook avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A nice combination there by Crook.
Jones looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crook moves away.
Crook looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.

Crook doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Good standup being displayed there by Crook as he connects with a hook.
Crook is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

Crook throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Crook looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.

Crook closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Crook throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.

and Jones counters with a crisp right hand that drops Crook! Jones lets Crook back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Crook is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Crook up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Jones from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Crook's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jon Jones!
A very excited looking Jon Jones made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
