Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Jeremy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcelo Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ribeiro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jeremy, pushing him back against the cage.

Jeremy breaks the clinch.

Ribeiro clinches up against the cage.
Ribeiro wants to take the fight to the mat but Jeremy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jeremy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ribeiro keeps control of Jeremy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ribeiro wants a takedown but no success here.
Ribeiro can't get the takedown.
Ron Jeremy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcelo Ribeiro.
Ribeiro has Jeremy pressed against the cage, preventing Jeremy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jeremy is trying to push Ribeiro away but Ribeiro has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jeremy breaks from the clinch.
A big left from Jeremy misses.
Jeremy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ribeiro manages to avoid it.
Ribeiro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jeremy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jeremy lands a leg kick that knocks Ribeiro off balance momentarily.
Jeremy misses with an uppercut.
Jeremy throws a hook but Ribeiro blocks it.
Ribeiro keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jeremy.
Ribeiro avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jeremy thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jeremy throws a head kick that Ribeiro semi-blocks.


It looks like Marcelo Ribeiro has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jeremy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jeremy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Jeremy swings for the body but Ribeiro moves out of range.

Ribeiro pushes Jeremy up against the cage in a clinch.
Ribeiro blocks the elbow strike.
Jeremy wants to break the clinch but can't.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Ribeiro.
Jeremy is trying to break the clinch but Ribeiro has him pressed against the cage.

Jeremy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jeremy enables Ribeiro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jeremy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ribeiro stays in close to Jeremy's body and controls the position.
Ribeiro throwing strikes but missing.
Ribeiro is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ribeiro distracts Jeremy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ribeiro passes into half guard.
Ribeiro landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Ribeiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jeremy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jeremy is trying to stand back up but Ribeiro is controlling him
Jeremy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.
Ribeiro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ribeiro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ribeiro connects with a nice short shot to Jeremy's temple.
Ribeiro looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ribeiro is working for a kimura but Jeremy is defending it quite comfortably.
Jeremy wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ribeiro is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ribeiro winds up and cracks Jeremy with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Ribeiro is trying for a kimura here. Jeremy looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ribeiro wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marcelo Ribeiro!
