Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimmo Savolainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Davidson clinches.
Savolainen is pressed up against the cage. Davidson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Savolainen down to the mat. Savolainen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Davidson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Davidson staying calm.
Savolainen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Davidson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Savolainen wants to control but Davidson postures up.

Davidson decides to stand back up. Davidson steps back and let's Savolainen get back to his feet.

Davidson tries for a takedown but Savolainen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Davidson counters with a single leg into guard. Savolainen didn't expect that.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davidson in particular looking to stall.
Davidson wants to take a breather but Savolainen is having none of it.
Davidson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Savolainen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davidson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Savolainen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davidson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Savolainen gets to his feet - Davidson follows without any prompting.

and Savolainen counters with a takedown into side control.
Savolainen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davidson keeps working.
Savolainen gets to mount! Davidson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Davidson tries to hold on but Savolainen pushes him away.

That was a close round but I would say that Gordon Davidson will probably get the nod.

Savolainen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davidson is on top in guard.
Davidson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Davidson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Savolainen screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Davidson! Nice submission victory there!
