Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Delphine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideaki Murakami! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murakami thows a left - swing and a miss! Murakami throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Delphine avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Murakami lands with a good body shot. Delphine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Murakami misses with a looping right. Murakami tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Delphine was well out of range. Poor timing from Murakami. Delphine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murakami.
Murakami takes a swing at Delphine's ribcage but misses. Murakami misses with a looping left. Murakami throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Delphine. Murakami looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Murakami looks to throw the jab but Delphine is out of range. Murakami throws a leg kick that misses. Some wild striking there from Murakami.
Murakami looks to land a right hand but Delphine moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delphine blocks a head kick by Murakami.
Delphine slips under a jab. Murakami lands with a kick to the temple. Delphine shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Murakami throws a big shot that misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Murakami. Delphine does a little dance to reset his feet. A head kick misses from Murakami. Delphine avoids the head kick by Murakami.
Murakami misses with a series of wild punches.
Murakami ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Delphine moves away. A big right from Murakami misses. Murakami throws an overhand right that lands on Delphine's shoulder, as Delphine tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murakami throws the left hand but Delphine avoids the punch easily. Murakami swinging wildly here.
Murakami misses with a wild body shot. Murakami looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Murakami throws a low kick but it's checked well by Delphine. Murakami with a nice cross. Murakami thows a left - swing and a miss! Murakami tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Delphine was well out of range. Poor timing from Murakami. Murakami misses with a hook
and Delphine counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Delphine. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Delphine passes Murakami's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Delphine is trying to work for a kimura but Murakami is defending well.
Delphine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Delphine is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delphine lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Nice strikes from Delphine there. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Delphine lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murakami taking some punishment here, with Delphine in his half guard. Delphine working over Murakami with some ground and pound. Murakami looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ground and pound from Delphine. Delphine seems to be working for a kimura but Murakami defends the submission attempt. Delphine wants to work for an arm triangle but Murakami is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Delphine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murakami's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Delphine lands a nice short elbow. Delphine looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murakami with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Murakami is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ground and pound from Delphine. Ground and pound from Delphine. Murakami wants to get back to full guard. Delphine is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Murakami is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Delphine scores with a couple of nice shots. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Delphine is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Murakami moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Murakami controls Delphine momentarily but Delphine frees himself. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Delphine tries to free his leg and advance position but Murakami is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delphine with a nice head shot there. Delphine passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Delphine dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Murakami misses with an uppercut. Murakami will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Murakami misses with a right hand and Delphine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Murakami's guard now. Delphine passes Murakami's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Delphine working Murakami over with strikes. Delphine drops an elbow to the side of Murakami's head. Delphine is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Murakami! Delphine landing punches.
Murakami is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Delphine postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Murakami badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Delphine around the waist but Delphine pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Delphine is the winner by TKO! Delphine jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danny Delphine! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Danny Delphine made sure he mentioned KAISER, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
